Tips for a Top Consignment

Getting the Most for Your Gently Used Items— Easy things to check for and why we ask…

1. All items are freshly cleaned and without stains/rips/missing pieces.
Why? We want to be able to sell all of your items if possible without returns.

2. Pre-sort to keep similar types of items such as toys vs. boys’ clothing vs. girls’clothing & with any matched outfits (e.g., tops and bottoms) placed together.
Why? We want to quickly process your items for sale and you know them best.

3. Lay items flat once sorted. No large bags or hangers please.
Why? We want to be able see your items when they come in and get them out onour selling floor quickly. We prefer not to get items on hangers and ask for you to remove and recycle them if you bring them in.

4. Check for Seasonality.
Why? Local families buy clothing in season for our climate. Think about this month's weather and next month's as you review your items at home.What adorable clothes & shoes did your children or grandchildren wear last year at this time? We’d like to see their best items. Athletic Wear for Sports are purchased year round.

More Info. for New Consignors to Our Store:

• No appointments are required to bring in your items. For the best service, we may ask you to wait for a few minutes while we review your items.
• When you bring your gently used items in, we will select what our customers will buy and let you know what we cannot sell. Please know that our customers’ preferences must be our selection guidelines.
• Baby equipment and toys you consign will be in excellent working condition, clean, include all parts and meet safety standards.
• We regret that we cannot accept car seats, cribs nor mattresses.
• We consign maternity clothing and boys and girls’ clothing from newborn size through children’s size 16.
• Clothes must be clean without stains or rips, and ironed and on hangers or laid flat in a box or bin.
  • No smoky, musty or mothball odors please.  We cannot accept garbage bags unfortunately.
• Items are consigned for 60 days from the day they are entered into our computer system.
• Consignors are responsible for requesting returns and picking them up in a timely manner. We have limited space.

• Consignors have a good sense of their own costs are and what a reasonable selling price should be for our customers.
• You consign your handmade goods and receive 60% of the selling price.
• Now seeking hair accessories, tutus and other unique items for children ages 0-10 years of age.
• Required - check and replenish inventory regularly - at least twice per month.
• Required - promote that your items are at Little Green Beans - to your mailing list, Facebook, Blogs and/or Twitter.
